It's a new month!! WOO HOO!! February is Black History Month. One of the most famous speeches ever given was by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as he was sharing his vision for the future of our country, and of African Americans. How do you think his speech has impacted our country? Do you think his words and his message are still important now? What can we learn even today from the words he shared?
Also-- research when Dr. Martin Luther King gave his historic "I Have a Dream" speech. Was this speech given before, or after the end of WWII (Which we are reading about in Number the Stars)? You may work with a partner to research this, you may not ask Ms. Furuto for help.
